Apple Harvest Bread

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

1 green apple, diced small

2 teaspoons cinnamon, divided

2 teaspoons granulated sugar, divided

2 teaspoons brown sugar, divided

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

One 16 Oz. can of biscuits

2 Tablespoons salted butter, melted

1/3 cup chopped pecans (optional)

For the Icing:

1 ½ cups powdered sugar

3 Tablespoons milk (or more)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

For the Dough:

Preheat your oven to 350, then spray a large loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.

Mix the diced apples with half the cinnamon, sugar, and brown sugar, then stir in vanilla, and set aside.

In another bowl, mix the remaining, cinnamon, sugar, brown sugar, and pecans, then set aside.

Open the can of biscuits and split the biscuits in half, so you double the number of biscuits.

Brush each biscuit slice with melted butter and sprinkle each with the cinnamon-pecan mixture.

Sprinkle diced apple mixture on each biscuit piece, and save some for the top before baking.

Stack and place biscuits in a long row in your loaf pan.

Brush the top with more butter, then sprinkle with remaining apples and pecans.

Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes. (Note If the top is brown and baked but the inside isn't fully baked yet, cover the loaf pan with foil and bake an additional 10 to 15 minutes.)

Remove your bread from your oven and let it cool for 5 minutes, then plate.

For the Icing:

Whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. (Note, if needed add more milk to get it to the thickness you like.)

Drizzle the baked bread with icing. Enjoy!
